Johnnie was born Sept. 17, 1969, in Duluth. He was raised by his grandmother, Ruth. He graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1988 and was part of the track team, where he went to state and set track records. He then attended UMD, where he again set many track records and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in health education.

He lived for a short time in the Philippines and in Tampa, Fla. It was during his time in Tampa, he found his love for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He coached track and football at John Marshall and RYFA and was a Cub Scout leader. Johnnie adored his kids and loved watching them play sports. He loved fishing, running, listening to classical, soul and funk music, nature and especially Whitewater State Park. Two things the world should know about “Johnnie B” are, he was extremely proud of his kids and he always dressed to the nines.

Johnnie is survived by his children, Kenyatta and Keondre Bryant of Rochester; brothers, Jami Bryant of Duluth and Michael Bryant of Wrenshall; Rebecca; and many nieces, nephews, aunt, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clearance and Ruth McDuff; and aunt, Barb.
