Past Reunions
Our 35th, Class of 1988, reunion will be July 29th, 2023 at 7:00 till close

EXTRA EXTRA...READ ALL ABOUT IT!  COMBINED 1987/1988 REUNION, SEE BELOW:

Our 35th reunion will be a one-night event located, in The Ballroom of the Greysolon located on Superior Street in Duluth.  Precise address is: 231 E. Superior Street, Duluth, MN 55802.  There is public parking adjacent to the building with skywalk access to the Greysolon. There are many of hotels to choose from within easy walking distance to the event; some are literally across the street or down 1 block.
However, there is a TWIST with this reunion.....  We have invited the “Class of 1987” to join us since, theirs was not able to occur due to the COVID pandemic.  Plus, I say the more the merrier AND we all went to school together, at the end of the day, regardless of the year of graduation.  Therefore, you will be able to catch-up with those other classmates that you may have not seen for years!

Until then, anyone that wants to assist on the 35th reunion, what we need the MOST help with is spreading the word and finding the missing classmates to ensure we have a good turn-out for our combined 35th (36th for the Class of 1987).

For the Class of 1988, we had a fairly decent turnout for the 30th with about 103 attendees present which, included approximately 90 classmates and 13 spouses.

Please try and find anyone listed on the LOST CLASSMATES page, as well as, continue to spread the word via Facebook (FB), email, word of mouth, passenger pigeon, etc. and ensure they all know of this website, the date chosen for our 35th (36th), the location, and that it includes the Class of 1987.

If you have any FB connections to fellow classmates, let them know of the date and official website.
Keep in mind a lot of our fellow classmates do not utilize FB nor do they live in the Duluth area.   We have A LOT of classmates that live literally all over the world.  Not just all over the US but, we have a lot of classmates overseas such as our winner of the 30th longest traveling classmate Allison Thomas (Folkard) who came all the way from Australia!!!!!

However, finding our lost classmates will not be easy but, if anyone is willing to help.....well, start your web crawler engines and start searching/finding!

I want to thank all of you who attended the 2018 reunion!

And a BIG thank you to the following people for the help with our 30th reunion: Lynda Ballavance, Crystal McClarey (door registration), Todd & Mary Hautajarvi-Otto (setup/clean-up), Nathan Bentley (donations/name tags), Brandon C. Scott (donation), and Maria Swenson-Marciniak (donation).  There were others, as well, so, I apologize if I left you out.

We look forward to seeing all of you, again, that attended the 30th, as well as, looking forward to seeing our other classmates that could not attend the last one including our fellow 1987 friends/classmates on July 29th, 2023 for our 35th!!!

Stay healthy and happy!

P.S. Please take the time to upload any pictures taken at the 2018 30th reunion to the "History Captured/2018 30th reunion" photo album.
PAST
Our 30th, Class of 1988, reunion was held on July 28th, 2018 at 7:00 at The Grandma's Sports Garden
Yes we said it!!!   30th reunion, wow are we getting old but, it does not mean, we do not know how to still have fun!!!
The 30th reunion will be a one-night event located in Canal Park, upstairs in Grandma's Sports Garden Bayview Room.  Just as the name implies, this room has a beautiful view of St. Louis Bay, as well as Lake Superior. Enjoy first hand the beauty of Duluth’s working port, along with a stunning view of Enger Tower in the distance. This newly remodeled banquet facility features original hardwood floors, white linens, recessed lighting, a Bose sound system throughout, and large floor to ceiling windows. The Bayview Room has formal seating for 200 guests as well as a deck with additional seating for 24.  However, please check back here many months prior to Saturday July 28th, 2018 to see any updated details of the 30th reunion.
Until then, anyone that wants to assist on the 30th reunion; what we need the MOST help with is spreading the word!

This is a mixer with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvre will be served throughout the night.  We will have chicken wings, meatballs, tortilla chips/salsa, cheese & cracker trays, fresh vegetable tray, and finally a deli meat tray to keep you feed and going all night!   If enough guests show up and gobble up all the appetizers well then, we will order up a bunch of pizzas to insure no one starves or gets too tipsy.  😊

Please try and find anyone listed on the LOST CLASSMATES page as well as continue to spread the word via FacebBook (FB), email, mailings/postcards, word of mouth, etc. of this website and of the date/location chosen for our 3Oth.
If you have FB connections to fellow classmates, let them of the date and site.  If you are missing classmate connections find them.   Keep in mind a lot of our fellow classmates do not utilize FB nor do they live in the Duluth area.   We have A LOT of classmates that live literally all over the world.  Not just all over the US but, we have a lot of classmates over seas!
So finding them will not be easy but, if anyone is willing to help well, start your engines and start searching/finding!

Thank you ALL who attended the 2013 reunion!

Please see the polling page and cast your vote for your event type of choice!

It will be a 1 nighter since, we did not have a great turn-out for night #2 and night #1 was not very good either!

Our class has approximately 330 classmates so, let's find the others that did not attend our previous events, do not know about the website, and are still "LOST" so, that they may attend our next event.  If you know where to find these fellow classmates forward me their information or provide that classmate the link to this website or to our facebook group/account.

House keeping items from our 2013 reunion:  Thank you to Nathan Bentley & Brandon C Scott for their donations.   Others made donations as well....Marc Langdon, Mary Hautajarvi/Otto, and others that I did not catch their names.   So, those unnamed donators, I am sorry for not mentioning your name but, we THANK YOU!
Wendy Peterson, Lynda Ballavance, Raquel Tahtinen, and Roni Lundin for their time in manning the tables for each event!

Thank you and see you on July 28, 2018!!!

PAST
Duluth Central Class of 88' 2013 Reunion
The reunion will be held on Friday July 26th and Saturday July 27th, 2013 a two-night event!
Event details are, directly, below but, for specific pricing details review the "Event Details" page.

FYI....spouses/significant others are encouraged to attend both nights!   The more the merrier!

Mixer-Friday night July 26, 2013 will be at Clyde Iron Works in the upstairs mezzanine area.  A private cash bar along with appetizers will be provided throughout the night.  Especially, later on in the night when the munchies kick-in and your dinner, from earlier in the evening, has long passed!

Cocktails & Dinner-Saturday night July 27, 2013 will be in Canal Park at Grandma's Sports Garden and Convention Center.  We will be upstairs in the gorgeous Bay View Room that overlooks the Duluth Harbor.  There is a private deck out the back of the room that overlooks the water.   If the weather is nice it will be a fabulous place to meander to while drinking our cocktails AND LOOKING AT THE BEAUTIFUL TALL SHIPS!!!   Yes, I said it.....the tall ships will be in town this same weekend!
The good news- they are stunning to look at.......the bad news- parking in Canal Park could be a problem so, plan accordingly.  You may want to consider parking away from Canal Park and taking a nice walk with your significant other to the event, park at the DECC and walk across the draw bridge, take a cab, get dropped off, or better yet.....take your own boat to the canal and anchors away....your call!    I am just fore warning you that Canal Park gets extremely busy when the ships are in town, as most of you know or most likely remember, so, plan accordingly.

Please RSVP ahead of time and pre-pay, via the Event Payment Secure Online system, since, this will not only save you $$$, we will charge more $$$ on the day of the event/at the door, but, it allows us to properly advise the facilities managers of the quantity of food, drinks, wait staff, etc. to provide.  Plus, it plain just makes our lives easier in planning for these events with the large quantity of attendees!  Plus, I lose less hair worrying on details.....I cannot afford to lose anymore hair. :)

Your payment $$$ goes to cover the event facilities rental costs, booking deposit fees, website fees for the next 5 years, appetizers (Clyde Iron Works), dinner (Grandma's Sports Garden), taxes, advertising fees, postage, decorations, etc. etc.

If anyone has any concerns where the $$$ go to put these events on, please give me a call and I will be happy to chat about it.

Help is always welcome.......any creative decorators out there?
Want to help?

We can always use some help in decorating each event.

Check out our "Events Happening" page often since, as we hear about events we will update this page.

Thank you to all who attended our 2008 20th reunion party!

Check out the poll page and click on results for the voting for a 1 verse 2 year.  Obviously, we voted for a 2 years but, check it out anyways to see how your fellow classmates voted.

The message board allows past class mates to provide us feedback on how you felt the previous events were, comments, and/or suggestions for future events or just general information.

NEW: We have a self-creatable Memorials page whereby you can now create your own memorial or tribute for a deceased classmate.  This does require web administrator approval for it to post to the website.  We will, however, review and approve the content as soon as possible.

Do not forget to let us know if you move by sending us a message of your new address so, that we can find you for the next one!  I would suggest you bookmark this site in your favorites, if you have not already.

Our class has approximately 330 classmates so, let's find the others that did not attend our previous events and are still "LOST" so, that they may attend our next event.  If you know where to find these fellow classmates forward me their information or provide that classmate the link to this website.

See you soon!

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Thank you to all who attended our 2008 20th reunion party and oh boy was it a Great Party!  The Dubbhlinn's event with the Lamont Cranston Band playing outdoors cranked up the atmosphere and the party; it was packed!  We had approximately 170 attending the Dubbhlinn's event and The Inn on Lake Superior event had a great turnout as well with a little over 100 attending for an excellent dinner and dancing to the great music of the 80's as only Craig Lambert and Paul Broman can do! They did an excellent job!  Thank you!

Remember the message board is an excellent palce to provide us your feed back on how you felt the 2 night event went and/or any suggestions on how to make our 2013 one even better.   Please provide feedback of the good as well as the bad parts of this years reunion.

We have renewed this site for the next 5 years so, that should give everyone plenty of time to upload any and all pictures you took of the event for all to see.

We have created a Poll page.   Please check it out and provide your opinion for our next reunion date.

Do not forget to let us know if you move by sending us a message of your new address so, that we can find you for the next one!  I would suggest you bookmark this site in your favorites, if you have not already, since, we have this site for at least the next 5 1/2 years.

Finally, a special thank you to Nathan Bentley for creating all of the name tags and our 20th DCHS Banner as a donation to our reunion.  Thank you very much Mr. Bentley!!!

Until next time, be safe, keep in touch, and let's all attend our next one.  Our class has approximately 330 classmates so, let's find the others that did not attend or are still "LOST" so, that they may attend our next event in the next 5 or 10 years (see the poll page).

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Blaine Ballavance, Terri Amendola (Haller), and Tammy Sather (Antonson).
