Richard (Dick) Forbort
1935-04-24 2008-02-24Richard W. 'Dick' Forbort, 72 of W. Buffalo St. died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008 at his home. Dick was born April 24, 1935 in Duluth to Walter and Edna (Carlson) Forbort.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Edna and his two sisters, Jan Forbort and Nancy Peterson. Dick is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Gary (Natalie) Forbort of Irvine, Calif., Scott (Sonja) Forbort and Keith (Mary) Forbort both of Duluth; daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Cerkvenik of Shoreview, Minn.; grandchildren, Derek, Nick and Jack Forbort and Mark, Laura and Eric Cerkvenik and his sister, Joanne (Arthur) DeRosier of Duluth; many nieces and nephews and many, many caring friends, former students and athletes. VISITATION:12 noon with services at 1 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church, 230 E Skyline Parkway. Memorials may be directed to the Heritage Sports Center. Sick was a great person ,he taught me how to be strong and I often would rely on what he taught me to get thru both hard Times as well as good times. He was truly a special person. I pray he is now happy resting in peace from above.
